Have you been noticing how a lot yoga has infiltrated each a part of our tradition or have you ever simply been desensitized to the saturation by now? (Rhetorical.) ABC is premiering a brand new comedy within the hopes that yoga’s trendiness hasn’t fairly peaked simply but. On tonight, proper after Modern Family’s season finale (so you realize they’re banking on this one), Downward Dog could have its debut.
We know what you’re considering…a brand new primetime comedy about yoga? Well, no. But, it IS a few canine! And the canine, Martin, a hipster pup (pupster?) with a dry humorousness, narrates the entire thing from his perspective—the entire thing being his doggie life in addition to his human’s ups and downs (canine).
We hear it’s the primary community comedy screened at Sundance. And we hear it’s actually pretty decent. Will individuals watch becaues of the yoga reference? We admit, we’re curious sufficient. And, in addition to the canine, the present stars the gifted Allison Tolman (Fargo) who performs the human, Nan, so there’s that.
The present was created by Samm Hodges and Michael Killen and began as an internet collection earlier than being picked up for the medium display. You can watch the collection’ pilot episode tonight at 9:30pm on ABC (then it strikes to a daily Tuesday 8pm time slot). It may also be on-line ultimately, here.
The synopsis: “Martin battles loneliness and the need for Nan’s unconditional attention, while she struggles with a breakup and Martin’s recent bad behavior as he reacts to her newly busy work schedule.”
Dogs behaving badly. Humans behaving badly. It’s definitely relatable. And there’s yoga someplace in there. Maybe.
